Description

The Avon RB780CR K4 High Security Road Blocker, a hostile vehicle mitigation solution providing a high level of security against unauthorised vehicle access.

The road blocker is designated as a Vehicle Security Barrier (VSB) and has been independently physically impact tested by the Motor Industry Research Association (MIRA).  The test was conducted in excess of the Department of State test standard SD-STD-2.01 revision A, and achieved a certification class K4 L3 rating.

Product overview

The road blocker was impact tested to the American Department of State (DOS) SD-STD-2.01 revision A K4/L3 ~ ASTM 2656 M30/P1 Penetration: 500mm. This standard was to certify the vehicle security barrier to a specific level of anti-ram protection.

A Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) solution providing protection to sites from Vehicle Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) attack.

Hydraulically operated, driven both up and down by a double acting hydraulic ram ensuring a positive action at all times without reliance on gravity for operation.  The power unit (HPU) is positioned locally within an externally rated cabinet and an emergency fast raise operation option is available.

The road blocker comes with a push-button control as standard. However, it can be customised to interface with a wide range of access control equipment to suit specific customer requirements. Available configurations include (but are not limited to) inductive loop systems, card readers, communication equipment and manned guard emergency systems can be accommodated.

Where the blockers control point is remote from the installation, we strongly recommend the fitting of a recordable CCTV system, traffic lights and inductive loop systems.

For safety reasons pedestrians, cyclists and motorcycles are advised not to use a blocker controlled roadway, additional safety measures can be incorporated into the blocker system if required.

This is a specialist high security product and is designed for use with vehicles only and a full site risk assessment must be carried out at design stage to ensure that all relevant safety systems are included.
